Kisah Sotong

Firstly, let me introduce the sotongs :

This is Paul. The ahli nujum sotong.

This one pulak Davy Jones.

Ni ha sepupu sepipit lepa bila jadi mangsa makanan kat rumah Pak Mansoor.

Alkisahnya, last week my sis who stayed in Seberang came to melawat. Kalau kakak ni yang mai, akan ada punya lah aneka ragam punya bahan masakan dia bawak mai. The reason being pasar malam kat Seberang ada serba manekam. Jadi my sis brought the sotongs. Dulu-dulu my mak loved this sotong. Makan rebus macam tu ja. So the next day lepas my sis went back Mak asked me, the domestic goddess in charge while Mama is away to masak the sotong.

Ya Tuhan..like seriously, nak tengok sotong ni pun tak sanggup apatah lagi nak pegang dia and gosok-gosok basuh??! Tapi demi Emak terpaksalah...agak meloya oookkk...Then Mak buat semua. Dialah katok halia and rebus. Maybe dia tak sampai hati tengok kepucatan dan ketidaksanggupan aku yang ting tong ni nak buat semua tu. Masa sotong ni tengah mendidih dalam periuk, fuuuuhhhh serious ngeri!

Aku tak makan sotong rebus ni. Siap tak mau pandang bila dok terhidang atas meja makan. Masa aku nak makan nasik, aku pegang pinggan putih berisi sotong tu and letak dalam microwave. Konon nak simpan sat la while I was having my lunch at the dining table. Tapi aku ni kan nyanyuk tahap kambing gurun. I totally forgotten about the sotong in the microwave.

Just imagine, aku simpan dalam microwave hari Selasa. Last Saturday baru aku bukak microwave sebab nak reheat soup!!!!!!! Mak datok bau 'harum' keng punya dok ada mau pengsan aku depan microwave tu! Dahla benda tu menggelikan, busuk + basi pulak! My oh my! Sangat lah disaster!

Maka, aku mencuci la microwave tu dengan segala pelbagai haruman. Dari warm water to dish soap to lemon sampai hari ni, Selasa bau sotong tu tak hilang-hilang lagi. Lagi 2 hari tak hilang kalau matilah aku sebab Puan Besar Salmah Sahat nak balik mai. Haihhssss...

p/s: Mulai sekarang entry akan jadi multilingual atas permintaan ya :) Sekian terima kasih :)

weekend

This is part of the many things I did during the weekend.

Murni's wedding.

Isn't she lovely??! I love her wedding dress, the make up..everything!

On the way back to the kenduri. I heart this pic so much!

I had only 20 minutes to get ready before the kenduri started. I was really hungry so I try to cook the sausages using the microwave. It ended up looking like this!!! I didn't have the guts to eat it after all.

After the kenduri I went out with Batcha. This is the first date since I recovered from the darn flu. I really enjoy the outing because he took me to...

.....one of my favourite places on Earth!!!!!! Kampung Melayu! Aaaah..the buildings are just magnificent! I would love to spend a day in there :)

Then, Mr. Batcha took me to this fab shop. This is a used sewing machine shop located in town area. Boy, i love this shop too!!

That night I had a fun time playing with my favourite sweet girl, Alya. She had her very first encounter with a baby. It was a really funny and cute moment to see how her curiosity drives her insane.

Making cute expressions...as always :)

Aah..lovely. I love my life now and forever. Thanks Allah for everything :)

November Anthem

This picture reflect exactly what and how I feel at the moment. I'm on a lonely journey yet I feel content and happy although most of the time I am dazed and confused.

Well. . . ..

I can see it.

That this week going to be one hectic week. More meetings and studies to be read. More sleepless nights.

And not to forget eye bag and panda eyes.

Therefore, I'm going to make this song as my official November tune. Loving this song, the voice, the words. Everything lah... :)

i'm back. tougher and wiser (i hope)

Hi loves,

It's been a while since I last wrote here. Been really busy with workloads and emotions turbulences. But apart from that, I'm back. I have a new layout (but dang, where did my profile go??) Quick updates:

1. Had my birthday. Awesome birthday treatments: spa treat with bestie, surprise lunch with Peggy & fam, nice outing with Mr. Batcha and of course went to see my grand niece's concert on my birthday was the climax event of the day. I'm blessed and I love my life and the people around me :)

2. Had extra humongous of workloads this month and this I predict, will prolong for about two years!!! Being a research dudetess is not an easy task especially when you have three people depending on you to feed them with INFO, INFO, INFO, INFO and INFO. As much I've become a rotten banana out of this, I'm enjoying what I'm doing. I love doing indigenous studies. It's my passion. And the haywire is the price to pay for this enjoyment although I feel like it's a lonely journey at times, I guess...

3. Wira is recovering from his injury FAST! Phew! But he's driving me crazy with constant jumping and lapping around the house.

4. Mom is doing better now too. ALHAMDULILLAH! I've missed talking to my mommies although I see them everyday. Note to self: Spend more time talking and lepak with them! It's the best soul food ever!!

5. Having and enjoying good time with Mr. Batcha. Appreciating the honeysuckle feeling of being in love now. People say that the feeling will wear off soon. Well, wear off of me or not honeysuckle feeling, I'm enjoying you to the fullest now :)

6. My eyes getting rabun BIG TIME! Too much reading nowadays. Plus, I'm in dilemma. Print out articles and read it while holding it and feeling the sentimental touch of the papers (waste paper, and not to mention ink cartridges too) OR just read it through the computer screen till your eyes go zoing zoing? Sustainability...but it hurts my poor eyes!

7. Looking forward for MJ's This Is It. Note to self: search for the tickets. The last time I kept it in my wallet...or was it in the scrapbook tin? Hmm...

8. Update more! There are so much of thoughts to share (as if..)

That' all. Thank you :)

Spread love and laugh. Not lies.

shiteous monday, wira's bad day

It's 12.43 a.m. Just got back from the vet clinic after waiting for the doc for about an hour +. Wira got hit by a passing car right in front the house. Luckily he did not bleed that bad or the whole house tenants would be fainting like a cartoon tree by now. Doc gave him 2 jabs and have to wait for tomorrow to see if he is okay or if there is any bone fracture. Hope he'll recover soon and no fracture whatsoever =(

Tatu to stay a little bit longer

By YENG AI CHUN

PETALING JAYA: Tatu, the baby orang utan that was rescued from a deer breeder in Kuala Kubu Baru, is staying in Malaysia a little longer until the case is settled.

Tatu is among three baby orang utans, an endangered species, that were confiscated in Selangor and Taiping in June.

The Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) released the results of the DNA tests on the fur samples of the three orang utan last week.

Perhilitan legal and enforcement director Saharudin Anan said Tatu was from the Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii species that originates in central Kalimantan.

Endangered species: Tatu and two other baby orang utans were confiscated in Selangor and Taiping in June.

“We will send Tatu back once the case is over. For now, he is a case exhibit,” he said, adding that Tatu and the other two baby orang utan were being currently cared for by the department.

The deer breeder, Mohamed Akbar Chi- raghdin, 49, has been charged with five counts of illegally possessing a baby orang utan and seven exotic cockatoos. (what the heck???!!)

He was charged under the Section 65 of the Wildlife Protection Act, which carries a fine of not more than RM6,000 or six years’ jail or both. (tuan hakim, he should kena sula dengan batang pokok berduri!!!!) He was released on bail and the case is pending in the Kuala Kubu Baru magistrate’s court.

The other two orang baby utan are from the Pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus species, most of which are found in Sarawak and in small colonies in Indonesia.

“It would be tricky to find out exactly where they are from. We will need to conduct further investigation on the matter. For example, if it is from Sarawak, we will return them to the state but we will also need to consider if they are fit to be returned to the wild,” he said.

It was earlier reported that the two baby orang utan were confiscated from Taiping Zoo and that its director, Dr Kevin Lazarus, had claimed that the protected animals were dropped off by an anonymous donor and that the zoo took them in as a “social obligation”.

p/s: Tatu is soooooo cute and adorable! Makes me wanna baby talk to him! ngeeee~~~

Woman found murdered and buried in cement at landing of staircase

By ANDREW SAGAYAM

KUALA LUMPUR: For several days, tenants of a four-storey shoplot in Gombak were troubled by a stench emanating from within their building but had no inkling it was caused by a decomposing body buried under a layer of cement.

The unidentified woman is suspected to have been murdered in the shoplot and could have been buried there for a week.

The gruesome discovery was made by the building owner who for a week received numerous complaints from his tenants regarding the stench emitting throughout the shoplot near the Selayang wholesale market.

Stairway to murder: The landing of the shoplot in Selayang where the body of the woman was found buried under a layer of cement Wednesday.

At 12.30pm yesterday, the owner conducted an inspection and spotted toes protruding out of a cement layering at the landing of a staircase leading to a vacant second floor unit. He immediately alerted the police.

Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner Abdul Rahim Abdullah said the deceased used to live with her brother-in-law and his family in the second floor unit when they moved in six months ago.

“We are looking for the brother-in-law, S. Muniandy, 41, a odd-job worker, who moved out with his family last week as the unit is undergoing renovations.

“His last known address is No 27 Jalan 4/1 Taman Sri Layang, Mentakab, Pahang. We need him to come forward to help our investigations,” he added.

He said police, who took several hours to hack through the cement flooring to remove the woman’s body, believe she was murdered in the unit as they found several spots of blood there.

It is learnt the owner told police that Muniandy and his wife seemed nervous as they packed their belongings into their van before they left.

According to tenants and neighbours, the sounds of heated argument were frequently heard coming from their unit.

fuh!

kalo sarah takmau dia, aku nak dia!!!!

Saturday, June 27, 2009

Not another bandwagon effect.

I'm not a big fan of him but I always admire how his music are able to unite people. You can be any race, age or religion but when you listen to Michael Jackson's songs, somehow someway you would either singing out loud to it, or dance to it or at least tapping your fingers or foot to it. Simply pure cool. Here's a clip from the late Michael Jackson.

And here's a really funny joke from my inbox,

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE WHEN YOU'RE OLD AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips , an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Don't mess with old people then :) Happy weekend everyone!

Kata Magik Hari Jumaat

:)
